Volunteer
We have 4 main programs we would love to have help with.
1) Dog Walking: Exercise dogs and teach them leash manners by walking them at park next door.
A gentle leader training dvd will need to be signed out and viewed before beginning.
Time Commitment: Flexible - Our dogs can be walked Tuesday thru Sunday!
Click here to schedule an orientation.
2) Puppy/Dog Fostering: Opening your home to care for dogs/puppies either due to space issues, socialization, or medical. After filling out a Foster Application and an approved home visit to ensure a safe and attentive environment, you will receive a weekly email that tells about the animals in need of fostering. If you can help, you let us know! Time Commitment: Very flexible, from a couple days to a couple weeks, we will work with your availability. We provide everything you need to care for them. Fill out the Foster Care Application and then let us know!
3) Weekend Adoption Events: Assist with local weekend events for dog adoptions and information tables. A fun way to help get our animals out in the public and to get more people to learn about Animal House! Train to become an Event Leader as well! Time Commitment: Approx. 4 hours on a Saturday or Sunday. We will email a list of events each week that we need help with and you let us know if you can help! Click here to schedule an orientation.
4) Fundraising/Event Committees: Work with Sandra, our Director and our Fundraising team in planning and organizing events and fundraisers! From our Pins & Paws Bowling nights, Martinis for Mutts social to our annual Pet Expo, we are a part of and create fun events that raise much needed support. Time Commitment: Attend at least one meeting each month and team work with others with projects based upon your time. We can be flexible if you can! Click here (link to contact page) or contact the director, Sandra Risler at (970) 224-3647 or sandra@animalhousehelp.org if interested in learning more!
All volunteers must go through a 30 minute orientation. Children 6 years + along with their parent or guardian are welcome to volunteer with Animal House. Must be 18 years or older to volunteer without a parent or guardian.

Partnership Marketing
Recognizing and honoring the human-animal bond has strong consumer appeal that any company can tap into. Cause-marketing enables companies to cross market and to benefit from the enormous appeal of animals. By associating with this local animal shelter, your business can emotionally connect to consumers on a level that few businesses can. While helping Animal House to raise awareness and support, you will be fostering an environment of positive reputation and community good will.
Furthermore, as a supporting partner, you will be given access to reach compassionate consumers through our various forms of media and promotions including our website, which averages more than 6,000 monthly viewers.
If you are interested in a win-win partnership approach, please send an email with details on your proposal to: Sandra Risler, Director at Sandra@AnimalHouseHelp.org
Jake's Fund
In honor of our beloved Jake and those we’ve loved and lost. This fund was created for those whose medical care has been neglected or financially difficult to treat. Here, we share with you our losses and ask your support in helping assure that we may provide treatment for the next dog who arrives in need. To read their stories and to help, click here.
HOPE Fund - Helping our Pets Excel
To help dogs become even more adoptable, sometimes all it takes is giving them extra training or medical care. In 2008 we starting the H.O.P.E Fund to help some of our very special dogs. We were able to get Rubia allergy tested, Rubia and Dewey both got training classes at the Dog Club, partial funds for Sponty's trip to transfer into a California shelter where he was quickly adopted and found his forever home, and Izzy a training class at the Dog Club as well. WIthout this Fund, none of these things would have been possible. To help future dogs get that extra love, please click here.
